Case 34:  

A 50 yr old male patient reported with the chief complaint of growth in the lower front region since 15 days. Growth started 15 days back as a small swelling and progressed to present size. On intraoral examination, a pedunculated mass was found in gingiva i.e. 33 and 34. The growth was rectangular in shape, 1.5X1cms in size, red in color and soft in consistency and was attached to underlying bone. Medical and family history was not relevant and patient smokes 10-12 cigarettes per day since 30 years. No other investigations were carried out by surgeon and a provisional diagnosis of inflammatory pyogenic granuloma was given.
